"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again." - Abraham Maslow 🌱🌱🌱 . This little quote resonates with me so much, because - like most people - I often struggle with fear around failure, and that means it usually feels safer to stay in whatever spot feels most familiar and comfortable. . . Even if that means not growing. . . Then, earlier this week, I was talking to a brave woman who had signed up for my ‘write to inspire’ course next year. . . She was feeling scared of taking the next step...of stepping forward, owning her journey, and sharing it with the world. . . But despite the fear, she stepped forward. She said YES to herself and her story, and stepping out of her comfort zone. . . It reminded me that even though it’s normal to feel scared of going after a dream, it’s important. . . Sure - it ain’t easy; but nothing exciting ever comes from staying inside our comfort zones. . . Adventure, soul-fulfillment, inner growth, and opportunity all come from taking a step of faith. . . I can’t wait for 2020... I know there will be hard moments. I know - just like some of my clients - I’ll be challenged with stepping forward. . . But one day at a time, one step at a time, we’ll do it. 💪🏼 . . PS. If you’ve always wanted to write and share your story, but don’t know where to start, check out my bio link for more info on 📝 WRITE TO INSPIRE 📖🌟 . . 📸 me in 2011 on my family property 🌱
“How do you keep writing and working on your book when you’re stuck in a slump and just don’t feel like doing anything?” . . A few little tips from yesterday’s live video 📝 I also share a simple little hack I’ve developed that has helped me smash out 13.5K words in the last 2 weeks. Happy to share if anyone would like a copy ❤️ . . Also - for all my #aspiringwriter peeps... what helps you stay on track when you’re having an off day/week? Share your tips below ❤️
