JAS RAWLINSON is a Brisbane author, freelance writer, and mental health advocate.
Well regarded for her ethical and empathetic journalism when broaching sensitive topics, Jas is passionate about changing her community through the power of words, and has been published across both international and national media networks.
She is also the author of the suicide prevention memoir book, ‘Reasons To Live One More Day, Every Day:Stories of triumph from Australians who refused to give into darkness.’
Jas has spent time in Thailand with sex trafficking survivors and undercover rescue workers, and in 2016 received national media coverage for co-founding Brisbane’s first permanent Domestic Violence Memorial.
Opened in March of that year by Brisbane’s Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, the memorial honours the men, women, and children murdered through domestic violence in Brisbane, and is inscribed with the words: ‘no more silence, no more violence.’
